Pine Creek Gorge, famously known as the Pennsylvania Grand Canyon, is an awe-inspiring natural wonder that carves its way through Tioga State Forest, deeply influencing the Potter-Tioga terrain.
Spanning roughly 47 miles and plummeting to depths of nearly 1,000 feet, the canyon is best viewed from two world-class state parks on either rim: Leonard Harrison and Colton Point.
The Pine Creek Rail Trail
At the bottom of the gorge runs one of the premier biking paths in the country. The Pine Creek Rail Trail extends over 60 miles, offering relatively flat terrain heavily shaded by vast canopies of deciduous timber.
USA Today named the Pine Creek Rail Trail "One of the 10 great places to take a bike tour" in the world.
